At Fortis, the bar has been set high from day one. It could mean a more complicated process; it could mean a smaller profit margin. But whatever it entails, our pursuit of quality is relentless.
It is this pursuit of quality that makes our products stand apart when it comes to safety.
It is the same pursuit of quality that gave birth to our unique 3 PRO technology that’s present in our range of house wires and industrial wires

Heat Resistant Core
While ordinary PVC can withstand a working temperature up to 70o C, the HR85 PVC used in the Copper Touch (CT) of HomeFort and FlexiFort wire is able to bear temperature up to 85o C. These wires are therefore able to withstand a much higher working temperature than other PVC wires, making them electrically and mechanically more stable.

Triple Layer Insulation
Triple layer insulation leads to relatively high electric strength of the insulation with a breakdown voltage of minimum 6kV. As Fortis uses a different grade of PVC compound in every layer, the distance travelled by leaked current is far higher as compared to when the same compound is used for the entire insulation or even when the same compound is used in the layers. The triple extrusion process used to manufacture the wires ensures that current leakage from the conductor through the insulation is upto 124 times lower than the values defined under international safety standards which allow a current leakage of upto 0.75 mAmps of hand held wires.

Heat Resistant Flame Retardant Insulation
Apart from being able to withstand additional heat, the HRFR85 used in the skin of the wire is able to withstand a fire condition of more than 29% oxygen index and 250o C temperature index. HomeFort and FlexiFort wires have self-extinguishing properties once they are removed from the direct source of fire. The specially developed insulation also gives excellent flexibility and high electrical, mechnaical and thermal resistance to the conductior.
